Women’s Day 2022

Women's Day Author

Ah! August 8th , we observe International Women’s Day globally, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. I often ponder over the question, trying to figure out a deserving answer as to why I should be proud to be a Woman. Simply being a woman requires me to go over and beyond for all my loved ones, which makes me realize just how strenuous it is. However, I am capable to go over and beyond, to carry the weight of being a family woman, a career woman, a woman of power and great strength, capable of changing and creating a brighter future for those to come. (Hajra Omar)

This beautiful creation of the God! The angel on the earth makes our life a wonderful experience all together. Imagine life without a woman is quite hard hitting. This angel shakes the cradle with one hand, the earth with the other hand. The fact that all the great people of the world are born from the womb of a woman and it is a woman from whom those great people have taken their initial teachings.

As a person, I believe life is an art, and I am the artist of my life. I try to keep it full of colours and as cheerful as possible no matter what life throws at me. I like to keep a smile on my face no matter what I am going through, and that smile keeps me going.  I matriculated in 2019 and my grandmother made me get a learner’s licence. I successfully managed to land in the business school through a learnership opportunity. It was one of my biggest dreams as well as a major goal  and gave me a chance to make my family proud. I can’t be happier than that to achieve this dream. (Zandiswa Nzuza)

Women! We are strong, we are optimistic, we are courageous and we are goals driven. Today we celebrate 66 years anniversary of the great Women`s March of 1956, where our strong brave dedicated women marched to the Union Buildings. This day was indeed a blessed day in disguise for of our lives. If these generous and courageous loving women did not march to protest against the carrying of pass books our lives would never have been the same as it is now.

My dream was to finish my matric and further my studies to get a better job since my mother was no longer working. While I was hustling as women,  God gave me a better opportunity. Apart from earning a stipend I am gaining valuable knowledge academically and about the challenges that we will encounter in life and how to overcome them (Thulile Jali).

Being a strong, bold, wise Independent Women in Today’s Society was not a privilege for many of us growing up. The word Independence branch like a tree with many different facets we grow up into becoming with hope of a better future.

Circumstances, good or bad, mould and shape our choices to want to succeed in our life. When I divorced, I became the breadwinner raising my children aged 9 and 4. I was faced with many adversaries but passion for my work, wanting to build my career, and a hunger to empower myself and others soon became a driving force as my growth and journey in finance began. I work at CSG International who have supported my studies and study at Saber Business School, I empower women in my circles, social networks, church and communities, a positive take on life and persevering with any challenge that come my way. Salute to all the beautiful strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them (Catherine Lawrence).

No matter how good we are at our jobs, there is always room for improvement. Apart from all the career and financial benefits, completing a qualification gives one you sense of self-fulfilment and accomplishment (Laura).

Getting an internship is a dream come true for many. Employers will be surprised how quickly interns can become interested and involved in the technical processes of their organisation with the right support. A good CSI programme is no longer a nice-to-have, but rather a critical component of business success. We look forward to partnering with companies wanting to create a competitive advantage for their company.
